The talk’s argument is not that capitalism should be abolished or defended. It is that the people inside the system have far more power to reshape it than they have been told — and that meaningful change begins with empowerment, not reform handed down from above.
An economic system born of one moment in history has been treated as though it were a law of nature. It is not. It is a design — and anything designed can be redesigned.
The work here is not utopian. It is practical: identifying where ordinary people, institutions, and capital already have leverage, and making the case that using that leverage deliberately — toward people, place, and the long present — is both possible and overdue.
